South Africa celebrates the 30th anniversary of the release of Nelson Mandela. On February 11, 1990, after more than 27 years in prison, most of which was on Robben Island, the father of the Rainbow Nation paraded down the street, fist raised, Winnie Mandela at his sides. Four years later, he was elected president of the Republic.

Publicity

To commemorate this day, President Cyril Ramaphosa will address South Africans from the balcony of Cape Town City Hall this Tuesday afternoon, as Nelson Mandela did after his release. But today, almost six years after the death of "Tata Madiba", opinions differ on the scope of his inheritance according to the generations.
