A violent fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday February 11, route Napoléon, in Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey, in the heart of the Préalpes d'Azur regional natural park. Ten hectares have already burned and 400 are threatened.

More than a hundred firefighters are mobilized to fight against the flames. They carried out a house defense. A family of four was placed in safety as a precaution.

Already three fires on Monday

The high winds inherent in the Ciara storm make it difficult for the firefighters. "The speed of propagation of the fire is extremely fast," reports the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) of the Alpes-Maritimes.

As of Monday, three fires had already destroyed ten hectares.
