Invited in the morning of Europe 1 this Tuesday, the public prosecutor of Paris announced the launch of a call for witnesses in the context of the Gabriel Matzneff case. The purpose of this call to witness is to verify if there are no other forgotten victims of the writer.

An investigation into the rape of a minor under the age of 15 has been opened against the 83-year-old man, who is currently a refugee in Italy. The scandal occurred after the publication of the editor Vanessa Springora's book The Consent , where she describes her relationship under the influence of the writer started when she was 13 years old.

Check "whether the facts are prescribed or not"

The whole purpose of the investigation will be to verify "whether the facts are prescribed or not," the Paris prosecutor also said on the radio. He specifies that the laws have changed and that the prescription is now extended to 30 years.

Gabriel Matzneff himself has claimed in some of his books his attraction for "under 16s" as well as his practice of sex tourism in Asia with young boys.
