Can Parasite Surprise? While the Oscar for best film seems to be promised in 1917 , by Sam Mendes, the rating of the South Korean phenomenon is rising among bookmakers. In the event of a victory, Bong Joon-ho's social satire would become the first foreign language film to prevail in the Hollywood ceremony.
Among the actors and actresses, the statuettes seem promised to Joaquin Phoenix ( Joker ) and Renée Zellweger ( Judy ), and to Brad Pitt ( Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ) and Laura Dern (Marriage Story) for the supporting roles.
On the French side, finally, it will be hard for Les Misérables , by Ladj Ly (foreign film) or I lost my body , by Jérémy Clapin (animation). But Alexandre Desplat (original music), Nefta Football Club, by Yves Piat and Damien Megherbi (short film) and Mémorable by Bruno Collet and Jean-François Le Corre (animated short film) could stand out.
