Princess Mikasa's Yuriko has had symptoms that her right eye is difficult to see from before, and she was diagnosed with age-related cataract.

For this reason, he was admitted to St. Luke's International Hospital in Chuo-ku, Tokyo on April 4, and was able to undergo surgery for his right eye on the 5th.

According to the Imperial Household Agency, the operation is expected to be completed in about 20 minutes and to return to normal life in about a week.

Yuriko is now 96 years old and will be hospitalized for several days after surgery.
