After winning the Melodifestivalen 2017, Robin Bengtsson was a self-written advance favorite when he is back in the competition this year. His song "Take a chance" has also been rewritten as perhaps the strongest song in Saturday night's starting field.

But at the same time, the stage show has streamed during rehearsals. The big projections to be seen behind him on stage have not looked as good in the TV box as it was intended. And there is feverish work going on to make them work.

Is it getting nervous now?

- The soundings are good. But the number is a little more complicated when it comes to projections on this canvas behind and camera angles and stuff. But I can't influence that much so I stand and so it happens behind me. I am happy with my efforts in any case, he tells SVT News.

The veteran behind the scene

Robin Bengtsson stands alone on the stage. But behind the scene stands another veteran in the context. Erik Segerstedt, who in the EMD group finished third in the final in 2009 and in addition to the second chance with Norwegian Tone Damli 2013, is a background singer on the scene.

Doesn't it feel like you're in the shade here?

- For me it's a pleasant feeling. It's fun to focus and be at the center. But it is also a pressure. I love working with music and to me it doesn't really matter in any way. It's fun to just be with us, ”says Erik Segerstedt.

- It's fun to have him along too. We are good friends privately, says Robin Bengtsson.

"Quite the same votes"

And this is not the first time the guys are working together. Erik Segerstedt was in the same way when Robin Bengtsson won with "I can't go on" 2017. Both times he was hand picked by his friend.

- The fact is that we have quite the same voices when we pop up in a chorus that was both in "I Can't Go On" and in this song. It's a perfect voice to have beside me in the soundscape, says Robin Bengtsson.
