The best bowl contest in Japan "Nodogurodon" for the second consecutive year Shimane January 30 10:59

In a contest to determine the best bowl in Japan that made use of local specialty ingredients, the “Dongurodon” using a donkey caught offshore in Shimane Prefecture won the Grand Prix, and a report session was held at the Shimane Prefectural Office.

This month, a restaurant in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, made a restaurant using a throat caught off the coast of Shimane Prefecture at the "National Local Donburi Championships" held in Tokyo, and won the Grand Prix for the second consecutive year.

On the 29th, the shop staff visited the prefectural office, reported the award to Governor Maruyama, and served "Nodoguro Don".

The Nodoguro Don has plenty of fillets of doneguro, and uses a light-mouthed dashi joyu developed with a local brewer to take advantage of the taste of the ingredients.

Governor Maruyama said, "The throat and soy sauce are perfectly matched and delicious. I hope you will continue to help us to attract customers."

In this contest, 14 bowls from all over the country were exhibited, and "Nodoguro Don" was a popular dish that sold about 30,000 meals during a 10-day period.

Yoshinori Kada, president of the Japan Sea Co., Ltd., who developed the Nodoguro bowl, said, "I would like to continue working on product development so that people all over the country can think of Shimane as a Sword."
