Three municipal ski resorts close at the end of January due to lack of snow This season's business closes January 29 at Akita 15:20

In a snow-less environment, Daisen City in Akita Prefecture decided not to expect heavy snowfall in the future, and decided to end the season at three municipal ski resorts at the end of January.

The business ends at Omagari Family Ski Resort, Kyowa Ski Resort and Odai Ski Resort operated by Daisen City. In these three ski areas, we have been preparing to move the lift as the snow piles up.

However, it was announced that this season will be closed at the end of January, saying that the ski area will be snowless this winter, and there is no snow at the ski resort, and it is not expected that the snow will collect in the future.

According to the city, all ski resorts are usually open until early March, but this season Omagari Family Ski Resort and Kyowa Ski Resort are unable to operate the lifts for one day. This means that the ski slope was only able to slide on some courses for three to five days this month. Ski resorts that sell season tickets will be refunded sequentially.

Daisen City Sports Promotion Division says, "I haven't heard of the closing of business in January. I'm sorry for those who are looking forward to winter sports, but I want them to understand."
