“Petersburg today bid farewell to the People’s Artist of Russia, artistic director and chief director of the St. Petersburg State Musical Drama Theater“ Buff ”Isaac Romanovich Shtokbant,” the statement said.

As the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov noted, the artist “lived a great vibrant life”, in which there was a place “both for feat and theatrical fame”. Shtokbant, according to Beglov, was an artilleryman during World War II.

Stockbant died on January 26 at the age of 94.
