• Opinion: Greta Thunberg, leader of the next generation

The young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg announced on Wednesday on Instagram that she registered the brand 'Fridays For Future' , as the environmental movement she founded, and her own name, is called to protect them.

"My name and the #FridaysForFuture movement are constantly being used for commercial purposes without any agreement," the 17-year-old said on her Instagram account. In his publication, he regretted that products are sold or money collections are made in his name and in that of the movement.

"I asked to register my name, Fridays For Future, Skolstrejk för klimatet ('school strike for the weather' in Swedish), he said, and stated that he did it only as necessary, to prevent any usurpation and not for commercial purposes .

The young woman, who is followed by millions of people around the world in her movement, also announced the creation of a non-profit foundation focused on ecology and well-being , "necessary to manage money (copyright, donations, prizes, etc.) in a totally transparent way ".

The foundation seeks "to promote ecological, climatic and social sustainability, as well as mental health," he explained, although he did not indicate what it will be called.

Described as a shy teenager, Greta Thunberg was 'declared' a spokesperson for a generation concerned about climate change since she began sitting in front of the Swedish Parliament in August 2018 with a sign that read "School strike for the weather."

It became the face of the environmental concerns of young and not-so-young people, and encouraged millions of people to participate in marches through the weather. She was invited to deliver a speech at the United Nations summit on climate.

The Swede has also been targeted by those who deny that climate change exists. There are those who accuse her of being a puppet or of hiring a 'green lobby' .
