In practice, this means that all books, magazines, journals, teaching materials and reports published in Sweden for 600 years should in the long term be available in digital form.

“Research and the public are demanding increasingly digitized material. By collaborating with our six libraries, we ensure that we utilize our shared resources in an efficient way, which speeds up digitization, ”says national librarian Karin Grönvall according to a press release.

The work will be carried out "in sub-projects for a longer period of time". In the first phase, material that is cataloged and free of copyright is digitized.

So-called everyday print, that is, such as instructions for use and flyers is not a priority part of the project, according to the libraries.
