It was the SPA which gave the alert and the gendarmes who led the rescue operation. On Monday, January 20, they arrived at the home of an individual near Caussade, in Tarn-et-Garonne. The sad spectacle that awaited them confirmed their fears: a "frightened" dog, nursing three puppies, was there, her muzzle surrounded by gaffing to keep her mouth shut and prevent her from barking. And, at the same time, drink or eat.
The gendarmes, who publish photos on their Facebook page, also rescued a male dog whose niche consisted of a simple trash can and a wooden board. He had dug the earth to shelter from the weather.
The dogs were entrusted to the good care of the SPA. As for their master, he was summoned on May 29 before the criminal court to answer for cruelty to domestic animals.
