The Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of a new coronavirus, will build a second hospital "in two weeks" to treat the sick of this pathogen, the People's Daily reported on Saturday.
According to this state media, the new center will have a capacity of 1,300 beds , which will be added to the 1,000 planned in a first emergency hospital , whose construction within 10 days was announced on Friday.
The Ministry of Transportation of the Asian country announced today a series of measures to prioritize the transport of emergency supplies and medical personnel, to help control the virus in Wuhan, epicenter of the outbreak, of 11 million inhabitants and with public transport suspended since last Thursday.
Wuhan will prohibit the movement of vehicles in the city center from tomorrow , and will allow only the transit of government services and vehicles with special permission, with the aim of minimizing the risks of spreading the coronavirus, which has already caused at least 41 deaths in China.
These vehicles will be exempt from tolls and will have absolute priority, reports Efe.
In that sense, the aforementioned ministry demanded that local authorities facilitate transportation and coordinate so that health resources do not find obstacles when it comes to Wuhan.
