A study indicated that the problems of insomnia and sleep difficulties that individuals face originate from genes, according to published in the British "Daily Mail" website.

The study included 6 thousand parents and children, and found that 50 percent of children with sleep-related problems shared their parents' same problem.

The study added that snoring can also be transmitted as a genetic trait to children, as 45 percent of the participants showed a match with their children with regard to being lost at bedtime.

Lack of sleep leads to other problems such as anxiety, poor memory and an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer.

Sleep problems were identified with anxiety at a rate between 3 and 5 nights of the week, and insomnia is classified as difficulty sleeping or waking during it, which affects the activity of individuals during the day.
