Tokyu Corporation, a major private railway company in Tokyo, has decided to introduce a new security camera that can check real-time images to all vehicles by July, in order to strengthen the security system on trains.

The new security camera was developed by Tokyu Corporation in cooperation with telecommunications giant Softbank and others, and is characterized by being integrated with fluorescent lights.

Until now, it was necessary to remove the recording medium from the camera when checking the image of the security camera, but the new camera can be checked in real time at the management office using the communication function.

In addition, by changing the security cameras from two places before and after the vehicle to four places on the ceiling, blind spots are almost eliminated.

Tokyu Corporation will introduce new security cameras sequentially from March, and will install them on all vehicles in July, when the Tokyo Olympic Games begin.

"It is necessary to know what's happening inside the car. It's possible to quickly check for troubles, molesting, and other crimes, and take immediate action," said Ryosuke Maeno, Deputy Chief of the Tokyu Corporation's Vehicle Department.
