An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 occurred in Turkey


In Turkey, an earthquake of magnitude 6.9 was recorded, which was felt throughout the country. This is reported by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The epicenter was 9 km southwest of the city of Sivridge in the province of Elazig in eastern Turkey.

The center of tremors lay at a depth of 10 km.

“A strong earthquake in eastern Turkey was felt throughout the country,” the EMSC said.

On January 11, an earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred in a suburb of Istanbul.
