The Media Pass allows easy connection to info sites. - Sipa

A unique identifier to connect to information sites. Announced two years ago by Geste (Grouping of online content and service publishers), the Media Pass arrived on Tuesday on six news sites, that of L'Équipe , RTL, Europe 1, Sunday , Paris Match and 20 Minutes newspaper .

After a first connection to one of the sites affiliated with Pass Media, you no longer have to retype your email address and password to surf other media. The user will, if he wishes, be automatically recognized. A hundred French publishers are participating in this project and this system will gradually become widespread. Prisma Média, the TF1 Group and Webedia have withdrawn from the system.

Goal ? On the one hand, ensuring user comfort and allowing them to continue reading an article from one screen to another. On the other, encourage Internet users to create an account on info sites via Pass Media and not via the Facebook Connect or Google Connect buttons. Having visitors connected will allow the media to better understand their reading habits, to eventually offer them advertising and targeted offers. The press intends to do like Gafa, Facebook and Google, while the future of the advertising cookie is threatened.
