High school students who want to start higher education and students in reorientation will be able to register their wishes on Parcoursup from Wednesday. This post-baccalaureate admission platform, inaugurated two years ago, this year incorporates all the training recognized by the State. Young people can register from January 22 until March 12. From this date, it will no longer be possible to make wishes, but candidates will have until April 2 to finalize their applications.

The answers will begin to fall, over the water, from May 19, until July 17 for the main phase. They will be suspended during the written bac exams from June 17 to 24. The complementary phase, open to candidates who have experienced only refusals or who change vows, will be open from June 25 to September 10.

"Yes", "yes if"

Until March 12, the candidate will be able to make up to 10 wishes (with the possibility of under-wishes depending on the training), without having to classify them. For each wish, the youngster must explain his motivation in a few lines. Will also be sent to universities and selective training "A future sheet" which contains the appreciation of teachers and the opinion of the school head.

The universities answer "yes" if the candidate is accepted unconditionally, or "yes if" if they are asked to follow an educational or personalized support program (218,000 were offered last year). It will also very often be "on hold" since on Parcoursup, unlike its predecessor APB, training courses - including general licenses - which have more candidates than available places classify the candidates according to their file.

Waiting lists

The selective streams (BTS, IUT, prep classes) answer "yes", "no" or "pending". In the latter case, the candidate can obtain several pieces of information in order to estimate their chances: their position on the waiting list, the total number of candidates in the list, the number of places in training, etc. It is recommended that young people not to make only one wish or to apply only to selective streams, so as not to find yourself on the floor.

From May 19 to 23, candidates will have five days to respond to the proposals received. From May 24, this period is reduced to four days and from May 25 to three days. At the end of June, a progress report obliges the candidate to confirm the pending vows which still interest him.

Novelties

Parcoursup brings together more than 15,000 public and private training courses in 2020, i.e. all post-baccalaureate training courses recognized by the State. This year 600 new courses are available, including selective licenses from Paris Dauphine University, the 10 Sciences po / Instituts d'Etudes Politiques, new business or management schools, training institutes for paramedical professions, etc.

Another novelty: the reform of health studies, with the abolition of the first year common to health studies (Paces). Future baccalaureate holders will now be able to choose the specific Health Access Course on Parcoursup - called PASS - or a license with the "Health Access" option - known as L.AS - accessible everywhere, including in universities that do not have a health faculty. .

In 2019, some 110,000 candidates who were neither high school students nor students and who wished to resume studies registered on Parcoursup. It was not the priority audience for the platform. The “Pacoursplus” service, available from Wednesday, will be dedicated to them this year. In conjunction with the Ministry of Labor, regions and universities, it will offer them a specific offer of information and guidance.
