  • The first common continuous assessment (E3C) tests of the new formula baccalaureate began on January 20 in many establishments.
  • But their organization and content have been strongly criticized by some teachers, causing disruption and blockages in high schools.
  • "A breach of equality between the students" denounced by the FCPE, which claims the leniency of the markers.

“We do not want children to be the victims of E3C. Given the situation, it is imperative that teachers grade the students with kindness, "said Rodrigo Arenas, co-president of the FCPE, on Wednesday. Blockades and disruptions have been observed in some high schools since the beginning of the week during the first continuous assessment tests (E3C) of the new baccalaureate. Monday, about forty establishments, out of 420 high schools which passed the tests that day, suffered troubles, according to figures released by the Ministry of Education.

If the first federation of parents of pupils is favorable to the continuous control and does not support the actions of boycott of the tests, it advocates, since December, the postponement of the E3C to allow a serene course of these tests. And the events of the past few days have reinforced his conviction. "The conditions for passing the E3Cs create a breach of equality between the students," says Rodrigo Arenas, who relies on feedback from the field at his local offices.

"Students were given 0 tests to train and others were not"

An inequity first observed in the preparation of the exams: In several high schools in Hauts-de-Seine, the exams were postponed to the first week of February, to give students more time to prepare. But in others, the students had to floor as early as January 20, " says Abdelkrim Mesbahi, president of FCPE 92." Some students were given 0 tests to train and others did not, "notes Jean -André Larrère, president of the FCPE Paris. "And high school students were left with E3C and controls to pass the same week, while for others, the agenda had been lightened," said Michel, elected FCPE in the Yvelines.

In addition, if some high school students did not know what sauce they would be eaten on D-Day, others had been put on the track a little to facilitate their reviews. "A high school principal of the Académie d'Orléans-Tours (Center-Val de Loire) informed her students of the first of the chapters to be revised for the history-geography test," stresses Rodrigo Arenas.

"Some rooms have been left unattended"

Another difference: the students who passed their E3C did not benefit from the same climate of serenity: "The Lycée Valin de La Rochelle being blocked on Monday morning, some students had to climb up gates to access the examination rooms and the blockers made an incessant noise during the tests, "testifies François, from FCPE 17." We also received testimony mentioning a fire alarm that sounded three times during a test, "said Rodrigo Arenas.

The conditions for securing the tests do not seem to have been the same either, according to the establishments. "Some rooms were left unattended for a certain time, which allowed the students to take pictures of their subjects and transmit them to their classmates who took the test afterwards," says Elisabeth, an elected FCPE from Seine- Maritime. And the coming days could bring other revelations…
