Visitors nearly 10 times due to the naming decision of "Tibanian" Chiba Ichihara January 22 20:14

Since it was decided last week that the stratum in Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture was named "Tibanian," the area has been crowded with people who want to see the precious stratum every day.

The stratum of about 770,000 years ago in Ichihara city, Chiba prefecture, was registered as an "international standard land" which is a geological standard representing one era of the earth at an international conference on this month, and the era was called "Tibanian". It was decided to be named.

According to Ichihara City, there have been around 250 people visiting the area since then, and nearly 10 times more visitors than before, taking pictures in front of the strata on 22nd and listening to explanations from local guides. I was thinking about the ancient times while tilting.

The city opened a guidance facility near the end of last year in anticipation of an increase in the number of tourists, and introduced features of strata that leave traces of the reversal of the Earth's magnetic field and fossils from that era with panels.

A 77-year-old man from Kanagawa Prefecture said, "I think it's wonderful that people around the world have recognized me. I'm happy to see the real thing."

In addition, a 66-year-old man from Chiba City said, "The guide explained carefully and was helpful. I want many people to visit."

Ayumi Ishii (62), a guide, said, "Everybody is very interested. The locals are fine and the people around me are blessed and I am really happy."
