Police officers from the La Rochelle police station arrested a 25-year-old man Friday evening, around 8:35 p.m., in the Villeneuve-les-Salines neighborhood, in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime), reports this Sunday South West .

According to the first elements of the investigation, he walked dressed in black and helmeted, in the street shouting "Allahou akbar". The police went to the scene, and the threatening individual reportedly ran towards them upon seeing them. One of the officers successfully girdled and overpowered him.

Although threatening, he was unarmed. He was hospitalized automatically.
