Each year, six stakes will be selected into the Melodifestivens Hall of Fame, but this year it will be 48 inaugural as it is premiere. Twelve award winners will be presented during the competition week and, in addition to the competition between dueling artists, Second Chance in Eskilstuna offers an extended program where the prize winners are celebrated.
- The long and colorful history of the Melodifestival has created memories that live and spread between generations, a collective memory can be said. And the award winners show that you can become a winner in many different ways. It can be a choreography, a text line, or something else that has somehow stayed, says Christer Björkman.
Everyone elected will receive a figurine called the Gold Star and the purpose is to pay tribute and highlight the most memorable moments from the history of the Melodifestival and strengthen the experience that the Melodifestivalen is a modern festival that brings together large parts of the Swedish people by being a common tradition, the SVT in a press release.
