Tom Cruise during the filming of Mission Impossible - URMAN LIONEL / SIPA

Paris, capital of filming? As Le Parisien reveals, Ile de France is increasingly attracting film and series productions. According to Film Paris Région, just last year, 40% of French films and 36% of foreign films were shot in the Paris region. An upward trend since in five years, filming in Paris and its surroundings would have increased by 84%, and the days of filming would have increased from 2970 in 2015 to 5465 in 2019.

More and more series

This growing enthusiasm of directors for the capital is explained by the creation of the tax credit of 2015 which allows to reduce the costs of filming in France, but also by the presence of more and more series. The daily takes the example of The Eddy , the new Netflix production directed by Damien Chazelle, which required 20 weeks of shooting in Paris to shoot the eight episodes of the first season.

But it is not the only one to have taken up residence in the city of lights, let us cite in particular Le Bazar de la charité or Dix pour cent on the series side, and Notre-Dame by Valérie Donzelli or Hors-Normes by Toledano and Nakache on the cinema side.
