Daruma's heating memorial service Gunma Takasaki January 15, 16:37
A ceremony was held at a temple in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, known as the Dharma Temple, which had finished its role for one year last year.
At the Shorinzan Darumaji Temple in Takasaki City, darlings are fired on January 15 every year, and over 30,000 dolls have been gathered in the precincts for the last year.
As soon as the priest chanted the sutras and lit the fire, it was wrapped in flames and about 100 people came to worship together with their hands.
The worshipers wandered around the fire and prayed for no illness because they were told that they would not get sick for one year if they were exposed to the smoke from the fire.
A 30-year-old couple from Maebashi City said, "I was able to spend my last year safely thanks to the Daruma. I would like to spend one year with my whole family."
Mr. Masashi Hirose, a priest, said, "I want you to spend every day cherishing while watching Kotosimo Daruma."
