Critic Yuzo Tsubouchi, who wrote criticism in a wide range of fields and left numerous essays on literary arts, died on the 13th at a hospital in Tokyo due to acute heart failure. I was 61 years old.

Mr. Tsubouchi is from Tokyo. After working as an editor of the monthly magazine "Tokyojin", he became independent and engaged in criticism in a wide range of fields from politics to sports.

He wrote many essays on the theme of literary arts, and in 2001, received the Kodansha Essay Award for "Seven Curly Curves Born in the Third Year of Keio".

According to publishing officials, Mr. Tsubouchi had been writing a series of weekly magazines until recently, but died due to acute heart failure at a hospital in Tokyo early in the morning on the 13th.
