Actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar - AdMedia / Starface

If you grew up in the 80s, you must know the series Saved by the Gong . The cult program, broadcast for four years in the United States between 1989 and 1993, recounted the adventures of a rebellious high school student, Zack Morris (played by Mark-Paul Gosselaar) with his group of friends.

Good news for the nostalgic: according to Deadline, Zack will return to the air in a new iteration of the series, with its original interpreter.

Change of opinion

Mark-Paul Gosselaar will not only appear in - at least - three episodes, he will also produce this Saved by the new-school Gong . It is not known, however, if the band of Zack, namely Slater, Jessie, Kelly, Screech and Lisa will also be there. The series is scheduled for the new streaming service of the NBCUniversal channel, launched from next April.

Last year, Mark-Paul Gosselaar announced that he did not want to see a new version of the series that had made him a star. It must be believed that NBC made him an offer he could not refuse: he will be co-producer.
