The Ministry of Ecological Transition called on French drivers on Wednesday not to refuel their vehicle as a precaution. According to the government, no precaution is necessary in reaction to the social movement which threatens to paralyze the country's refineries.

A potential peak in consumption, caused by these "full of safety", could even "contribute to creating tension points on certain service stations", indicates a press release, which confirms that "all the refineries of metropolitan France continue to produce ”. Six refineries out of seven are still experiencing "temporary difficulties in their shipments," said the ministry.

“Normally supplied” service stations

In the depots from which the delivery vehicles leave, "stocks are at an excellent level, equivalent to more than 3 months of fuel consumption". And 98% of the 11,000 French service stations know "no difficulty" in being "normally supplied".

It is therefore unnecessary to fill up if you are not using your vehicle immediately. "The 'full of precaution' are of no use," insists the ministry. These reassuring words come as the CGT launched a call to block refineries between January 7 and 10, raising the threat of a fuel shortage in France.
