Pakistani police arrested a man, who “sold” his daughter for about $ 3 to a person who had tried to rape her in the city of Qusoor in the eastern Punjab province.

The buyer was also arrested by the police, according to local press reports.

The mother informed the police about the crime, noting that the father had invited a man to his home to "sexually assault" his daughter, after he had "sold" it to her for 500 rupees.

The Pakistani "Dawn News" station revealed that the mother was at work at the time of the sale agreement, but she learned of the incident after the child told her.

After a medical examination of the girl, the doctors said that she had been subjected to an attempted rape.

The popular station said that the man who paid the money had been charged with a sexual assault in 2013, but had not received any legal punishment at the time.

The Pakistani authorities have charged "trafficking in human beings for the purpose of sex" to the father and the buyer.
