"Dracula" (Dracula). From January 1st to BBC One and January 4th to Netflix

"Dracula" by Bram Stoker - a new project of the duo of scriptwriters "Sherlock" with Benedict Cumberbatch. This time, Mark Gaitiss and Stephen Moffat dispensed with the transfer of heroes to modern realities, but did not begin to follow the letter of the novel with meticulousness. According to Geithiss, the series is largely based on the work of Stoker, however, the scriptwriters also brought in no less here, and the filmmakers completely omitted part of the content of the novel.

The series takes place in 1897 in locations somewhere between Transylvania and London. Judging by the fact that the description contains the name of Jonathan Harker, it can be assumed that the plot in the series is similar to the novel: Harker is a solicitor who goes to Transylvania on duty, leaving his bride Mina in England. There he is captured by Count Dracula.

The vampire is played by Danish actor Klas Bang. So far, only three series of the project will be aired.

The heroine of Monaghan needs to understand if he is a real prophet or an ordinary fraudster.

The project has already gained fame as provocative. Some English-speaking Twitter users noted that the Islamic religion was not accurately reflected in the series and that the plot of the “Messiah” is fairly predictable (some of the participants in the discussion were even blocked by social media for spoilers). In addition, a petition was created on the Internet calling for a ban on the show due to anti-Islamic propaganda.

Initially, show runners approved Emma Roberts ("American Horror Story") for the role of Kat, but she dropped out of the project due to a mismatch of schedules. As a result, the skater was played by the star of Molokosos, Kaya Scodelario.
