Iraqi state television announced, at dawn on Friday, the killing of the Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Revolutionary Guards Corps.

Iraqi television also announced the killing of the deputy leader of the militia of the popular crowd, "Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis", in a missile attack targeting a car that Soleimani and his engineer were traveling on the road to Baghdad International Airport.
