In Tokyo, where the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held, a new station on the JR Yamanote Line will open for the first time in half a century, and redevelopment projects will accelerate in various places, and the cityscape of the capital will change drastically.

March Opened Takanawa Gateway Station

Of these, Takanawa Gateway Station, a new station for the first time in about half a century, will open in March between Shinagawa Station and Tamachi Station on the JR Yamanote Line.

It is planned to build high-rise buildings with housing for foreigners and cultural facilities on the approximately 10 hectares site around the station.

June Opened Toranomon Hills Station

In June, Toranomon Hills Station will open between Kasumigaseki Station and Kamiyacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. The building built near the station will have terminals such as the BRT = Bus Rapid Transit System that connects to the waterfront area where the Olympic Games venue is located.

Commercial facilities and hotels open in Shibuya Miyashita Park

On the other hand, in Shibuya, which is undergoing redevelopment that is said to be "once every 100 years," Miyashita Park has been completed on the roof of a building, and commercial facilities and hotels have been newly opened in this area. Around Shibuya Station, Tokyu Department Store Toyoko will close at the end of March except for some sales floors, and several high-rise buildings will be built on the site.

In Tokyo, redevelopment will accelerate further in Otemachi and the bay area, and the cityscape of the capital will change drastically.
