On Friday, December 27, Channel One hosted a live broadcast of the semi-final 12th edition of the eighth season of the Voice vocal show. At this stage, two wards of each of the mentors competed among themselves.

The fate of the semi-finalists, as in the previous issue, was determined by mentors and viewers. Each of the jury members could redistribute their 100% of the votes between the wards only in a ratio of 60:40. The mentors' votes are added to the decision of the mentors.

“Together with TV viewers, mentors for the last time this season, moreover, this decade, will select applicants for the title of the country's best voice,” said Dmitry Nagiyev.

The first on the stage were the wards of Konstantin Meladze - Nurzhigit Subankulov and Asker Berbekov. Subankulov’s performance in the previous stage did not impress Meladze very much, and he assigned only 30% of his own votes to the vocalist. The situation saved the vote of viewers.

In the semifinals, Subankulov performed with the composition Human of the British soul artist Rag'n'Bone Man, who received platinum status in the UK, Italy and Austria.

Berbekov performed next - he got Mark Anthony's single My Baby You, which the musician performed in Russian. The text of the composition specifically for the project was written by Meladze.

“My shy silence is just a prelude to their shameless conversations. How did they sing? ”Nagiyev asked for comments to Polina Gagarina.

Gagarina confessed her love to the participants' voices and noted that she would gladly go to their concerts. A similar opinion was expressed by Valery Syutkin and Sergei Shnurov.

“Well, of course, my self-esteem has increased,” Meladze emphasized.

However, before stopping the audience’s vote, Nagiyev invited Subankulov and Berbekov to the stage, and with them the former show mentor Pelageya. The trio performed the song “Horse” by Lube.

As expected, Berbekov went to the finals of the competition, who was among the audience's favorites throughout the season. He scored 116.7% (60 from the mentor and 56.7 from the audience).

Then came the turn of the wards of Sergei Shnurov - Ragda Hanieva and Anton Tokarev. Khanieva was the first to enter the scene, who performed a cover version with oriental motifs on the hit “They Will Not Catch Us” hit group “Tatu”.

Tokarev got the song “I would be in heaven” of the group “Leningrad”. Nagiyev noted that Shnurov "always chooses songs for the soul."

Gagarina once again commented on her colleagues ’first performance:“ You fill the stage - these are real artists. ”

Syutkin noted that Shnurov’s wards have “their own bright handwriting”, which ultimately emphasizes that “the mentor is not hopeless.” Meladze praised Tokarev, but expressed the completely opposite opinion regarding Khanieva’s speech, noting that Shnurov could not choose an approach to her.

While the audience chose the participant they liked, along with Khanieva and Tokarev, the Little Big rave band entered the scene. Together they performed a potpourri from the songs “Snow” by Philip Kirkorov and the viral hit Skibidi.

When the time came to distribute the votes between the wards, Shnurov gave 50% to each of the vocalists, which, as Nagiyev emphasized, was a “forbidden move”.

“In this case, if you, as at your concerts, took off your underpants, we would forgive, but we cannot forgive this,” Nagiyev added.

Shnurov wanted to solve the problem by tossing a coin, which, in Nagiyev’s opinion, was, of course, a “masculine solution.” As a result, the mentor gave 60% to Tokarev. The audience considered that the performance of Hanieva was stronger - the girl received 54.8% of the vote. However, this did not change the situation, and in total Tokarev gained 105.2%.

Following the Shnurov team, lines were opened for voting for the wards of Gagarina. Alana Chochieva performed with the composition of Alla Pugacheva "Harlequin".

Then Yev Nabiev, who sang the song "Talk to Me, Mom" (known by Valentina Tolkunova), appeared on the stage.

Meladze noted that Chochieva managed to sing Pugacheva’s hit freshly, without a retro touch, but the touching song by Tolkunova performed by Nabiev Meladze did not like. The mentor felt that the vocalist lacked sincerity.

Chochiev was praised by Shnurov, noting the relevance of the chosen image of the Joker. However, he did not appreciate Nabiev’s performance, indicating that he should have changed his image (“shave his mustache”) so that it correlated with the tone of the chosen composition. But on the contrary, it seemed to Syutkin that Nabiev had coped with the task.

Before the announcement of the voting results, Nabiev and Chochieva again went on stage - this time with singer Zivert. The musicians performed her hit song Life.

It was the turn of the vote. Gagarina gave 60% to Nabiyev, and according to the results of the audience’s vote, Chochieva went ahead - she gained 54.2%. However, this did not change the situation, and Nabiev ended up in the final.

The last to be admitted to the finals were Valery Syutkin’s wards - Arsen Mukendi and Elimdar Seydosmanov, who was the first to perform the jazz version of the song “Where the Maple Roars”.

“Over billions of years of evolution, the Universe has come up with an amazing path so that today we hear this musical freshness,” commented Nagiyev.

Then Mukendi appeared on the scene - this time he was entrusted with the French Ego song by DJ Willie William, which Meladze later commented as follows: “Arsen in its aesthetics”. At the same time, it tastes trivial to the taste of a mentor. And commenting on Seidosmanov’s speech, Meladze said the same thing as about Shnurov’s work with Hanieva - Syutkin couldn’t pick up the “key” to the musician.

“I'm sorry. It seems that the spirit of Yuri Loza has infused me today. Toward the end of the project, I want to speak in essence, ”Meladze concluded.

Shnurov continued to make fun of his colleague: "You are a tortoise tortilla - you need a key."

In turn, Shnurov praised Mukendi’s performance very much, but Seydosmanov, the mentor believes, was unlucky - “you can see right away - Valera was attached, and that’s it.”

Gagarina praised the performances of the wards of her colleague. Hibla Gerzmava came to support the team of Syutkin - the trio performed the song of Charlie Chaplin; Smile (well-known by Nat King Cole and Michael Jackson).

In the final, Syutkin decided to invite Mukendi, giving 40% of the votes to Seydosmanov. The decision of the mentor disagreed with the opinion of the audience, who appropriated Seydosmanov 55.4%. As in the two previous cases, this did not affect the situation, and Mukendi became the finalist of the “Voice”.

Now the quartet of finalists is staffed. The release ended with the performance of all the semi-finalists who performed the composition of Basta "Sansara".

Viewers will be able to find out the name of the best voice of this season on January 1, 2020.
