An exhibition in the British capital, London, opens a window to the past, from which visitors will view the details of an unforgettable trip made to Britain by a young prince who later became an influential king of Saudi Arabia. The journey was in 1919, and that prince was Faisal bin Abdulaziz, who later became king of Saudi Arabia.

Under the title "Faisal: A Life in the Heart of the Twentieth Century", the exhibition presents a collection of artifacts, photos, collectibles and personal items for the late Saudi King during his first visit to Britain.

The prince, who was 13 years old at the time, was sent on a mission assigned to him by his father, the ruler of Najd, at the time, Abdulaziz Al Saud. While traveling for the first time in his life outside the Arabian Peninsula, Prince Faisal strengthened his political career, decades before he assumed the throne in 1964.

After 100 years of the journey that lasted for months, and included many regions, the exhibition includes seven chapters or sections, each of which represents a memorable King Faisal trip, including Najd, from which, from India, London, England, Wales, Ireland and others. The exhibition is organized by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, and will run until January 10. "The invitation came from King George V to King Abdulaziz to visit London, and then to go to Paris to participate in the peace conference in Versailles, which was held after the First World War," Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Center, said of the historic trip. And King Abdulaziz Al Saud chose King Faisal to be his representative. His journey started from that invitation that they received from King George V ».
