NHK Sendai Broadcasting Employee Arrives about 540,000 yen Disciplinary Dismissal Dismissal December 23 16:37

The staff of NHK Sendai Broadcasting Station was dressing about 540,000 yen due to improper accounting processing. NHK has decided to reimburse the staff and pay disciplinary dismissal.

A 43-year-old staff member of the NHK Sendai Broadcasting Station General Affairs Department processed 13 unauthorized accounting transactions from May to December and was dressed at 540,750 yen.

This employee was in charge of accounting and had entered fictitious payment data and had NHK transfer money to his account, but was unable to prevent fraud due to insufficient checks.

NHK decided to reimburse all employees and disciplinary dismissal, reduce the boss and deputy manager of the planning and general affairs department of the Sendai Broadcasting Station, and blamed the director and finance manager of the accounting bureau. The director of the broadcasting station and the former accounting director were sentenced to the admonition.

Chairman Ryoichi Ueda will voluntarily return 30% of the one-month remuneration and Director Matsusaka Chihiro will return 20% of the one-month remuneration.

NHK will implement thorough data collation and confirmation work as a measure to prevent recurrence, and will revamp the system so that accounting staff in charge of screening cannot process payments for their slips.

NHK commented, "Illegal accounting is a serious act as a staff member and I am deeply afraid to the audience. We will further strengthen business management to prevent recurrence."
