A 4-year-old boy was attacked by a 4-and-a-half-meter snake that tried to drag him away in the yard of his home on Airlie Beach in north Queensland, before his father intervened, according to the British newspaper "Daily Mail".

The newspaper added that the child was taken to hospital, severely wounded, after he was subjected to what he described as a "brutal attack", at his home.

His father revealed that they were holding a party at home, and his son was accompanied by about 6 children beside the pool, but he suddenly heard screaming and when he turned he found a huge snake planting his tusks in the leg of his son and dragging him away from the house.

And the father confirms that his son would almost be killed, had it not been for his timely intervention, as he said that he had caused the snake a blow with a hammer at the level of the head, which made him leave the child's leg.

The father explained that the snake was very fierce and aggressive, adding, "I have dealt with snakes before, but I have never seen one like this."

His father added that the child's condition is currently stable after he underwent surgery.
