Poroshenko, it seems, did not fully understand what deeply critical situation he found himself with the whole country. Zelensky twitched, began to make concessions to those, others, a little screwed up fire on the front line (it’s true, they confirm to me from the front line), but he realized that diplomatic overpowering Russia was the key to his presidency.
So, we need to change the Norman format, because France and Germany may not be such allies. Why? Well, two words, for example: "Nord Stream." Or another word: "counter sanctions." Oh, how both Ukrainians and Russian Ukrainians laughed at both of these concepts! It was clear to all these lights of thought that none of this would work for Russia, because Russia, as any decent person knows, is Upper Volta with missiles, and Russia knows nothing more. And she will not be able to diplomacy.
Russia can diplomacy. Ukraine cannot. Running “between the droplets” is not diplomacy when it comes to serious things. Ukraine is forced to make concessions unfavorable to it. Yes, she once agreed to these concessions, but then the barrel of Lugansk and Donetsk machine guns was pressed to her chest. After all, no one thought that a proud and independent power would abide by some shameful Minsk agreements? Not. And they were not respected. Poroshenko's fictional successful reality made it possible to ignore all the problems. Zelensky at least does not ignore, but sees, only does not understand what to do with them.
Therefore, other players were needed in the negotiations on the Donbass. Players from the United States, a priori opposed to Russia. Otherwise, it would not be possible to achieve even small success in the Norman talks, well, nothing at all that would pass for the rebellion of the radicals, who are still sitting on the chain, but already angrily scolding at the current government, which is perceived as too soft.
