More than two million Brazilians have already signed a petition on change.org for Netflix to remove a 45-minute film in which it presents Jesus Christ as gay.

The play, called The First Temptation of Christ, plays with the title of the once very controversial The Last Temptation of Christ, by Martin Scorsese. This film has been made by a group of Brazilian comedians called Porta dos Fundos introducing a Jesus who comes home with her boyfriend, one Orlando, to "present it to the Sagrada Familia."

Brazil, a country with many millions of Catholics, has shown its outrage with a public petition on change.org for Netflix to withdraw the series because it "offends" the religious feelings of its population. In addition, homophobia in Brazil is quite common.

In fact, the country's president, Jair Bolsonaro, calls himself a "proud homophobe", and has already suspended this year the broadcasts of some LGTBI-themed series and movies.
