Crime journalist Thijs Zeeman has signed a contract with RTL. After having been on SBS for five years, Zeeman has been employed by RTL from 1 January.
Zeeman is going to work on developing and presenting new programs for his new employer. Peter van der Vorst, program director of RTL, describes the crime journalist as a "sound television maker" who creates "fascinating and controversial programs".
Zeeland says it is grateful for the possibilities that it got with SBS, but states that it was time for a "next step". "During the open conversations I had with RTL, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to continue my career there. The drive and ambitions that RTL has for the future are very contagious," the journalist said.
According to Van der Vorst, the programs that Zeeman develops will mainly be shown on RTL 5.
