Willeke Alberti cannot perform during the Grote Songfestivalfeest, which takes place on Sunday in Ziggo Dome. An organization spokesperson confirms on Saturday that the singer is recovering from the flu.
During the Grote Songfestivalfeest various artists will perform who have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest during the past fifty years. The event is presented by Cornald Maas and Edsilia Rombley, with the help of guest presenters Emma Wortelboer, Tim Douwsma and Buddy Vedder.
Alberti (74) participated in 1994 for the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, with the song Where is the sun? She then finished in 23rd place, with a total of four points.
Earlier it was announced that the Finnish band Lordi and the Greek singer Helena Paparizou cannot come to the Eurovision festival.
