• REPORT: The most dangerous countries in the world to travel in 2020
  • JAPAN: A hotel room at 80 cents a night ... with one condition: that you let yourself be recorded

The YouTube channel that concerns us changes that old saying of "what do clouds smell like?" because of "what do cities sound like?", the motto that allows you to discover cities like Paris, Madrid or New York through their sounds.

The architect of this sensory journey is Nomadic Ambience , a successful account with more than 247,000 subscribers today who go crazy to hear the noise of Madrid (there is also video of Valencia ), London traffic jams or, much more bucolic as is the flow of waterfalls in Iceland.

The creator of such a catalog is Kyler Boone , a young 31-year-old computer scientist born in the United States and who, a decade ago, decided to become a digital nomad. Thus began his journey around the world. That, together with his inability to sleep at bedtime, caused him to begin recording the sounds of the cities of his country, from Chicago to New York, Boston or Michigan, which prompted him to sleep. Not surprisingly, in his account he recommends which videos help you sleep the most.

Little by little, the list was increased, capturing the noises and whispers of the day-to-day life of the cities I visited as Mexico City or Madrid itself . Thus Nomadic Ambience was born in 2017: uploading videos in high definition where the protagonists are urban sounds, which are accompanied by an aesthetic image. Currently, it has more than 140 videos and the list continues to grow.

The one in Manhattan walking under a storm is, for example, one of the most successful on YouTube (with more than 2.9 million views ), although Internet users also love to hear the rumors of Tokyo's Shinjuku neighborhood or discovering the march Nightlife of Mexico.

The wild nature of Iceland also attracts the clicks of the users of the account, highlighting the rumor of the black beach of Vik, one of the most touristic corners of the so-called ice island. The motorbikes of Saigon, in Vietnam, as curious as it may seem, also add adherents every day. And, apparently, the traffic jams also have their particular charm ...
