Dr. Christoph Howerand, a German internist and cardiologist, said that continuous psychological stress raises the risk of many diseases, which made the World Health Organization consider it one of the greatest risks in the twenty-first century, according to Sky News.

He explained that the constant psychological tension paves the way for muscular tension, heart attacks, strokes, fluid retention in the body and obesity, as it weakens the immune system and leads to "lip herpes" and skin impurities.

To avoid these risks, Howrand stressed the need to combat persistent psychological stress by practicing relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation, training for self-stimulation, and progressive muscle relaxation.

Another effective weapon is perseverance in sports and hobbies such as drawing, playing music, meeting friends, going to the cinema, theater and concerts, according to German News Agency.
