The Court of First Instance number 1 of Barbastro (Huesca) has ordered the immediate return of the 111 assets of the historical heritage of the Aragonese parishes that remained deposited in the Diocesan and Regional Museum of Lleida.
Seven months after the trial that faced the dioceses of Lleida and Barbastro-Monzón, the judgment dismisses in its entirety the arguments raised by both the Catalan bishopric and the Consortium of the museum institution and concludes that the assets are Aragonese property and they must return .
This resolution opens a new front in favor of the Aragonese aspirations, after the repeated breach of the Bishopric of Lleida to the judgments of the Vatican courts that ordered the return of the assets of the segregated Aragonese parishes of the Catalan diocese.
The sentence handed down fully estimates the claim presented by the Bishopric of Barbastro-Monzón, representing the 43 parishes, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of Aragon (TSJA).
