The theme of the Children's Book Week of 2020 is all about history. The Collective Propaganda Foundation of the Dutch Book (CPNB) also announces that Arend van Dam will write the Children's Book Week Gift for the 66th edition of the annual theme week.



The theme of the Children's Book Week of 2020 is all about history. The Collective Propaganda Foundation of the Dutch Book (CPNB) also announces that Arend van Dam will write the Children's Book Week Gift for the 66th edition of the annual theme week.

The theme, that the title And Then? is about exploring worlds of the past. In addition to the gift from Van Dam, Mylo Freeman will make a picture book that will be published in the Children's Book Week.

"During my entire reading life I prefer to dive into stories that really happened," says Van Dam. "With this Children's Book Week Gift, I intend to write history."

From March 4 to June 24, children can also vote for their favorite children's book. The title with the most votes will be presented with the public prize during the Children's Book Week.

The Children's Book Week will take place in 2020 from Wednesday 30 September to Sunday 11 October. Then the NS Children's Book Exchange also takes place, whereby young readers can exchange a book they have brought for a new one.
