We are not a marginal country, and despite the size of the average Emirates, but it is an active and influential country in the global system, and this requires us to understand all current and future global changes, and to read the near, medium and far future.
This is not a political philosophy, nor a useless theory, but an important vital matter that helps us draw the necessary economic and political strategies and plans to keep pace with all future variables, and without this foreseeing and analyzing the future, we will not be able to determine our position in the world of tomorrow, and we will not be able to complete our internal plans and strategies, but rather We will not succeed in it, as it is bound by everything that surrounds us regionally and globally.
Therefore, the importance of organizing the Arab Strategic Forum in Dubai, which is held annually under the auspices, attention and presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, may God protect him, comes as the forum is a reference to the movement and trends of the world politically and economically, and it monitors the most important geopolitical and economic changes regionally, the implications of which affect the Various countries of the region, and the importance of the forum multiplied this year because it monitors these changes during the entire next decade, until 2030.
The Forum launched its report that contains answers to the most important 11 questions for the next decade, and the answers to these questions are general lines of what may happen on the global and regional arenas, and it provides accurate foresight to the various possible scenarios, and therefore it is a knowledge treasure that supports the ability of decision makers to direct their work in proportion to all possibilities. The future, which is to anticipate the most important and most difficult global and regional political and economic challenges.
Perhaps the most important question on the world stage is what concerns the future of the largest economy in the world since the beginning of the twentieth century, the economy of the United States of America, in light of the formation of a multipolar system, and the emergence of many countries and regions, today contribute widely to the international community.
The report sees that the most prominent competing country for the United States, in terms of nominal GDP is China, but the report suggests a 65% chance that the United States’s economy will remain the largest in the world, a decade from now, and a 33% chance that it ranks second after an economy China, with the assertion that the size of the United States’s economy is now 1.5 times that of China, in terms of nominal GDP, and even assuming that the United States’s economy will record modest growth rates, and China’s economy will correspondingly grow exponentially, it will take more than 10 Years to replace each economy now Exit in order.
Certainly we care about that, as the UAE is closely related to these two countries, and they have strong and distinct relations with each of them, so it is very necessary that we deal intelligently with these two countries, in addition to Russia, as it is clear that it will continue as a major force during the next decade, and deal with all of them simultaneously. One, in light of the differences and sensitivities that exist between them, as this reality is one of the most important challenges for the Emirates, and its success lies undoubtedly in how to achieve balance in the relationship, and bypassing the intense competition that governs the relationship between these countries.
