The American rapper Juice Wrld died on Sunday at the age of 21. The musician became unwell at Chicago Midway Airport and later died in the hospital, TMZ reports.

Jarad Anthony Higgins, as the rapper actually is called, became unwell after his landing from California. Higgins was then taken with the ambulance and died in the hospital. The cause of death is unknown, blood would have come from the mouth of the rapper.

The rapper broke through last year with the song Lucid Dreams . He was still on LowLands this year and released a total of two studio albums. Higgings worked together with singer Ellie Goulding for the song Hate Me . He also released the song Wasted with Lil Uzi Vert and was on stage with rapper Nicki Minaj on her world tour.

Higgins grew up in a suburb of Chicago. His parents divorced when he was young and he and his older brother were raised by their mother from that moment on. It was a conservative Christian household where his mother forbade him to listen to hip hop. Higgins taught himself to play the piano and guitar and later he started to play drums. In his teens, he was addicted to various types of drugs, including Alprazolam (known in America as Xanax). Higgins turned 21 this week.
