Two copies of a wall art of bananas were sold for $ 120,000 during their exhibition at Art Basel in Miami, USA, this week.

The artwork "Comedian" is from the Italian sculptor Maruccio Catellan, who designed the golden toilet that was stolen from a castle in Britain earlier this year.

Organizers at the exhibition say, "A French man and woman bought the artwork, for $ 120,000 each, while the third copy was raised to about $ 150,000."

According to ArtNet, Italian artist Maurizio Catellan bought a banana from a supermarket and hung it with a tape on the wall at the Perrotin exhibition of contemporary artwork for the first time in the French capital, Paris.

The exhibition's founder, Emanuele Perotin, said that the banana represents "world trade and dual incomes, and a kind of humor," as he pointed out that the artist turns things into "boats of a delightful and critical nature."
