56 polar bears cannot leave the vicinity of the village of Ryrkaipiy in Chukotka. The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) of Russia reports that among them there are both adult and young animals, while almost all predators were emaciated. In the village, all social events were canceled, and volunteers organized patrols to prevent bears from clashing with people. As explained in WWF, the reason for the invasion of the clubfoot was the abnormally warm weather: they cannot leave on ice, which has not yet been sufficiently strengthened.
