From 18:45, this Friday, on France Télévisions, the 33rd edition of the Telethon will be launched. The start of a 30-hour live television show to raise as many donations as possible to fund research on rare genetic diseases. To make the two major meetings of the weekend Friday and Saturday night, presented by Sophie Davant and Nagui, sponsored by Jean-Paul Rouve, television director Tristan Carné will be in charge. Whoever works, among others, on The Voice, Mask Singer, Daily or political broadcasts, tells the behind the scenes of this donations campaign, in "Culture Media" on Europe 1.

"What matters is the donations counter"
"I'm doing prime-time acess and prime-time on Friday and Saturday nights, so two big nights," says the director at the microphone of Philippe Vandel. "It's a special program, because we're dealing with a difficult subject, we try every year to make a big event around this evening." A giant bubble was installed facing the Géode in the Parc de la Villette in Paris. "We will film a lot of testimony, variety, singers, it is also a moment of celebration for these children who live an exceptional evening," says Tristan Carné.

To make donations, viewers must dial 3637. "Clearly, what counts is the counter of donations," says the television director. "I saw children who could not have been treated, who today walk." Tristan Carné has been a director on the main stage for twelve years. Before, he was in the pledge centers. He says: progress is palpable.
A bonus dedicated to the heroes of fiction series
The Friday night bonus will be dedicated to the heroes of the fiction series. The evening is rhythmic with an alternation of reports, testimonies and variety. There will also be several events on the edge of the board such as "La Baraque à Frite". "We will sell as many fries as possible to try to make the maximum donations" but also a Gaming Telethon, with personalities of video games, Youtube and e-sports, details Tristan Carné.
With a focus on winning back audiences after two years of declining donations. Death of Johnny Hallyday, "yellow vests" ... the charity event has been unlucky in recent years falling at the same time as big news, which have tended to eclipse. This weekend, it's still the strike that disrupts the show. "We stand up, we say that nothing will prevent the telethon from being made." Tristan Carné assures him, he is not afraid of complications compared to the mobilization against the pension reform. "The artists are happy to come, the technicians are very motivated and happy to make this show."
