Asked about Anne Roumanoff's place of humor on Europe 1, the comedian Mathieu Madénian explains why, according to him, it is possible to laugh at everything. He also stresses that this debate is healthy in his eyes.

INTERVIEW

Can we still laugh at everything? The question keeps coming back in the public debate, since a humorist crosses the yellow line for a part of the public. Interviewed by Anne Roumanoff on Europe 1, the comedian Mathieu Madénian starts from a simple principle. Yes, it is possible to laugh at everything, as long as it is done with respect and the joke is funny.

"Funny, well-argued and legal"

Mathieu Madénian has necessarily asked himself the question, he who is a contributor to the weekly Charlie Hebdo , a leading satirical newspaper. "Can we laugh at everything? If it's funny, yes," said the comedian. "We can say everything, but it must be funny, well-argued and that it remains legal," he says.

After more than ten years of career on the boards, Mathieu Madénian is pleased that the question is asked in the public debate. "To wonder about this is already good, because it means that we are in a country where we can ask the question," he notes. The comedian is currently on stage for his new one-man-show, Family Show , in which, as the name suggests, it is about his family.
