"Charter", which will receive the Swedish premiere at the end of March, is about a custody dispute. The wife (Ane Dahl Torp) takes the two children with her and flees to Tenerife. Her husband (Sverrir Gudnason) tries to persuade her to come home, but the police report to her.

"I am incredibly happy that my film gets its world premiere at a festival as significant as Sundance," Kernell said in a comment.

She made her debut three years ago with the internationally acclaimed "Sameblod".

The fact that "Charter" now competes in Sundance means that it will also participate in one of the festivals in Berlin or Cannes. Successful films from Sundance often end up in one of the sections there.
